RIDING MY WAY

On Demand, for Tapas Bhai,

A trip ahead, and so many plans for it. Well if it's a longer one then obviously it accompanies with better pre plans. But do the plans always meet the end.

Definitely not always. Such a trip I had last time, returning from home town to work place. So it's almost 315km to cover by bike. Plans made days before and definitely need a company to complete all the way. Friends are always ready to support you that's why they are your buddies. On standby always.

Puja vacation went well having lots of fun with family, friends & relatives. The lively idols of goddess Durga along with ornamental pandals were so complimentary along with rush roads. Food was really delicious and so was the environment. Time arrived to get back to work and the plan to complete a long way came lively.

As decided before an early morning exit was preferred. With lots of enthusiasm I went to bed. Alarm clock always makes me wake up in time and this time too it didn't fail to complete it's duty. Alarm woke me up with a surprising sms. It read;
"Ajaa nka deha kharap.
Mu mamu gharaku jauchi.
Sorry. Jaiparuni."
(unable to go due to sudden illness of grandfather)

This was really heart breaking and you can't even blame anyone. Moreover making someone else to give company in a long journey is another difficult task. After few calls I ended up harassing and postponing my journey by 1day. Well, passing a day in hometown is not that bad at all provided you mustn't having any other work responsibility. But it's that call of duty which can't make you rest peacefully. After a long day failed approach for a company I made out to do it by myself all alone.
Confidence, indeed is a great thing which forces you forward and I finally managed gathering this in myself. A light dinner and I was all set to cover this longest ever distance by myself.

A quick snap of guavas
Once again my digital alarm did it's work properly by waking  me up quite early. Leaving my bed with lots of curiosity, I folded up everything and finished quickly to have tea and cookies. It was sharp 5.30 in the dawn I left home.  The cooling breeze of approaching winter was feeling too soothing with the chirping of birds asking people to start their day. As I started the journey I set the destination on my mobile map. GPS is that technology which helps me to get directions without any hassle. Thanks to my smartphone, I love it for it's apps. Powered by HERE Drive+ the wheels started rolling with lots of enthusiasm, hope, and curiosity. It's always a feel good experience to travel unknown ways. After a few minutes of start, I reached those feel good ways. While passing by the Dhenkanala road, I got a company of a stranger by giving him a lift to his office. After covering 80km I took a stop at Kamakhyanagar for a  relaxing cup of tea. Everything going well. Beautiful forest and isolated roads gave a feeling of joy, happiness and a little discomfort too. Driven by an unexpressed suppressed fear I went ahead. A fear of breakdown or puncture, which  might be so terrible. Actually it was that excitement which was overpowering my fear and I was enjoying it. Roads along side of river and green hills were too drawing my attention and forcing me to stop and enjoy a bit, but the miles way long road was overpowered and made me keep riding. Meanwhile on my way met with an old woman who was struggling for her guavas to be sold. I thought of having an another halt, and grabbed a few with my third stop on the way. Took some guavas and killed some time by taking snaps as a memo.

Feeling bored! I took the mobile and plugged in my earphone. There are enough music to refresh myself. I played my Greens playlist and ignited my bike again. Then restlessly I rode enjoying my music and covered 200km while I  rested a while. The last half of my journey was yet to finish and I made myself ready again.

The nearer I went, the painful it began. The familiar roads seems not to finish anymore. Covered a lot and yet another 70km to go. It was almost 2.30 in the afternoon and the call of lunch was really unavoidable. Having my tasteless lunch was like an another burden. Anyway, finished it and started the unstoppable journey again. Completing those ways were like fighting against own tiredness and to keep going. My new bike was running well and with all my fainting energy I finally reached my destination by 3.30pm. It was exactly 314.8km as per the analogue meter of my two wheeler. Now I got to know the experience of covering 315km by bike. More Confident and too much tired. I had a bath immediately and took a short nap on my most loving and familiar bed. By evening when woke up I realized having fever. Just a  cup of tea and a pain killer after dinner made me fit again.

This unexpected journey filled me with at most confidence to complete tough journey of life. Though a few people consider it as a daring act but it built a new level of strength within me. Thanking everyone for the support and expecting the same in coming days.

Hope the next long journey to be a romantic one... LOL
